ChemicalSafeSkincare.co.uk has been set up by a group of concerned consumers and conscientious manufactures to provide consumers with more information about the ingredients in skincare.

We feel that this message is being ignored and that the issues and debate surrounding the safety of products is being brushed under the carpet.

Many consumers, like us are baffled by the long list of ingredients found on the back of most shower gels, shampoos and cosmetics.

Manufacturers market the benefits of these to us. We hear about how “creamy”, “iridescent”, “exfoliating” and “scented” they are but few of us realise that these features may require a significant number of added chemicals. If we knew how many extra chemicals were added to products to make them smell, look and feel better we would be better informed as to whether these products are right for us.

Some research suggests that products containing some chemicals can irritate or even potentially trigger sensitive skin conditions, so it is important that we have this information.

Remember these ingredients are added to skincare products, toothpastes, baby products, shaving gels, moisturisers and many many more products we use daily on our hair and skin.
