Raise awareness about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS)
author
We have been approached by a national newspaper looking to write an article to raise awareness of MCS in the UK. They are interested in interviewing female sufferers aged 30-45. If you would be happy to speak to a journalist about your condition, please email you details to info@toastpr.co.uk

Fragrance Free Zone:
I hate to be the one to have to tell you this BUT…. your “personal fragrance” is no longer personal. Your “NOT so personal fragrance” literally took my breath away.
I had to get out of the line before I could even check out and I was gasping all the way to my car! Not funny when your throat is closing up !!!
Not everyone thinks you smell as good as you think you do!!! Not everyone wants to smell your perfume, cologne, aftershave or fragranced lotion. Nobody wants to sit close to you in your office, a waiting room, the doctors office, real estate office or even next to you in a restaurant, classroom, bank or check out line.
Not everyone, especially those who are already suffering with Cancer, Migraines, COPD, Asthma, Allergies, Fibromyalgia, MCS, or other illnesses. We are already struggling just to breathe, we don’t want to smell your “NOT so personal fragrance.”
You don’t smell good… you literally stink and you make me and a lot of other people sick!
Making the Connection —- Did you know that there are MANY people right here in YOUR community that have severe adverse Fragrance / Chemical reactions ? Some have it so severe that they can not leave their home or be part of society in a “normal” way. Some children have to be home-schooled. Just a whiff of fragrance, Bounce, Plug-Ins, or diesel fumes could cause a life threatening Anaphylactic reaction!
This is called MCS or EI. Multiple Chemical Sensitivity or Environmental Illness. This IS NOT a simple allergy.
There is a lot of information about MCS/EI on the web. There are MANY other health problems associated with MCS /EI. More common ones are links between people with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Gastrointestinal problems, Porphyria and more. Do you have any of these illnesses? If so, do you continue to put chemicals and fragrances on your body and clothing. Learn what is in Bounce and I guarantee you will NEVER use it again. Learn what is in everything you put on your skin (skin, is the largest organ of your body and absorbs into your blood) http://www.bodyburden.org/
Many children as well as teachers are having difficulty even being in classrooms because they are full of the “fragrance soup.” Many office workers can no longer hold down their jobs because they have become so ill from fresh paint or new carpet being installed not to mention insensitive co-workers who insist on marinating in their perfume!
I won’t get into mold issues here!
If you or someone you know is more than “inconvenienced” by fragrances
and/or everyday cleaning products and chemicals you may want to do some homework on MCS.
You can start by looking at the link below where you will find lots of information, printable handouts, posters, educational material (incase you need to enlighten a friend, co-worker, teacher, loved one or even YOUR DOCTOR who might be telling you “it is all in your head”) !

What people with Perfume Allergies want other people to know.
We seek out medical care globally if we can afford to.
We learn that there is no cure except for avoidance.
We need to eat, we need to go to the store.
Many of us are forced out of jobs because workplaces are not “Fragrance Free” friendly.
Many of us are isolated in our homes. We try to take up hobbies to pass time.
Many of us try to educate the public about how common & devastating this invisible disability is.
Many of the children with Perfume Allergies can not attend school.
Many of us can not attend religious services.
Many of can not travel to visit friends or family.
Many of us were professional people with degrees and made good livings.
Many of us have lost our families, our friends and our ability to earn a living because of Perfume Allergies and the lack of understanding by others.
Many of us can not get “safe” dental care and our teeth are in disrepair.
Many of us can not be hospitalized because fragranced chemicals are used in EVERY area of the hospital and nurses and doctors often wear Perfume so they can not come close to us.
Many of us have many other serious health disorders associated with “Perfume Allergies”
Many of us are homeless or on the verge of homelessness.
Many of us can not leave our homes, have other people in our homes or go to other peoples homes due to Laundry detergent Fragrances, Bounce and Glade plug-in’s, etc.
Many of us are very social but our need for isolation is one for survival.
Many of us want you to know that everyone is just one perfume spray away from becoming disabled from perfume and chemicals.

Could not agree more. My life has become hell at work because of perfumes. I can no longer enjoy my garden because of the scent put out by neighbours clothes driers - have manufacturers increased the amount of scent in washing powder and conditioner?
I get symptoms of joint ache, running nose and a general feeling of wellbeing

I used to be a Chemist, but last time I went into a lab I had to crawl out as I had both an anaphylactic and asthmatic reaction. Now I can’t find a work place that’s free of chemicals and even keeping the house chemical free is a challenge. Why is all that junk mail printed on glossy paper? The question is, has anyone find anything that helps? I’ve massively changed my diet after food intolerance tests and that has helped dramatically, but I’m still exhausted after doing very little, and if I walk past someone wearing perfume my face swells up and I look and feel as if I’ve been beated up. Any suggestions gratefully received.
